One of the things about long-distance collaboration and virtual ICS games is the difficulty in connecting & sharing.
Cut to my Google Wave invite (which I got of a guy at work) and an afternoons 'play'.
Ok its a preview and I suspect we are way off an open Beta but even so, this has (I think) great promise.
Wave is like a combination of Instant Messaging and Forum discussions. So you get the real time element with the persistence of a forum. And its a doddle to add media such as audio:

There are 'public' & 'private' Waves - broadly speaking the equivalent of a Forum thread or conversation. So imagine a virtual lodge game in a private Wave containing the participants and any other ICS nutters who want to watch/comment.
Plus a public one for all.
I would like to set up a public one now - there are a surprising number of musicians already in Wave with several public Waves devoted to DAWS, etc.
(for the pic above I used soundcloud.com which has produced a Wave gadget allowing you to embed audio in a Wave). _________________ Mike aka 'mcl'

I hope I am not being too cheeky but I have created a public wave.
You can find it by searching on:
with:public Immersion Composition Society
As soon as I can I will of course invite Nicholas and get others who are interested involved. I figure if we all invite one or two ICS members it wont be long before we have a good body of folk involved. _________________ Mike aka 'mcl'

Heheh. I will save you!
I am amazed that from about 700 wave users there are SO many musicians. The ICS wave has picked up a little interest - which is great!
I was Reading the July Sound on Sound - the article on remixing - and spotted the Doves article. Your book gets mentioned. The wikipedia article mentions this but I hadn't appreciated it was a recent SoS.
Mentioned the SoS article in the ICS wave. _________________ Mike aka 'mcl'

Aye there would appear to be a large number of UK folk. One of whom asked me about lodges nr Greenwich. I pointed Jez at the London Lodge.
Its good to hear you got something out of the Dove mention. _________________ Mike aka 'mcl'

Heater is intimately connected to Burning.
as far as Limey, youll find whose loonies in our top friends on the ICS Myspace. you can also find a band called "Elephant Vs. Leopard" in Myspace music. they are Limeys. fun guys. maybe too fun. the most terrifying car ride of my life was administered by one of those maniacs. imagine those skinny-ass London streets, now imagine a guy skidding every corner at what must have been at least 70-80 mph. i felt like kissing the ground when we got safely back to their house in one piece, at which point they did their best to poison me with serbian moonshine in a battered plastic soda bottle that looked like it had sat by the side of a desert road for 10 years. danger! danger! ha ha _________________ Nicholas Dobson
